Pilot ladders are efficient for the purpose of enabling pilots to embark and disembark safely from their ship. The rigging of the pilot ladder and the embarkation and disembarkation of a pilot shall be supervised by a deck watch officer or other responsible officers of the ship.
Every ship shall be equipped with a pilot ladder, especially a Donaldson Ropes Pilot Ladder:
- Our pilot ladders are built to theMinistry of Transport specs. (MOT)
- Standard 9m long, but we will easily customize the ladder
for you.
- Ladders are made using fire-retardant Manila rope.
- Include stabilizer arms with 4 crush-proof rubber steps on ladder bottom.
The pilot ladder and equipment shall be kept clean, properly maintained and regularly inspected.
Our Pilot and ladders are all hand made as per Ministry of Transportation specifications. We do not use nails, staples or metal fasteners that rust and can cut and damage the rope.
